The current state of the Youth of Eswatini reflects levels of unemployment and poverty at a startling rate of 58%. This dilemma necessitated the development of a Youth Empowerment Programme to ensure sustainable livelihoods and resilient socio-economic solutions that would build capacity of young people and guarantee their participation and contribution to redefining the economy of Eswatini.

The Council is responsible for supporting Sustainable Livelihood Programs for the Youth. This entails business training, grant accelerator, business mentorship and coaching activities which the Council does in collaboration with strategic partners. The aim of this program is to give young people a head-start to achieving their lifelong goals in entrepreneurship.
The primary target for the mind-set change pathway is to assist young people to achieve a transformative orientation towards distinguishing between perceptions and reality regarding the challenges they face in the quest to creating livelihood means.
